no it should be compatible. The I kept the old waterline value. The new waterlevel is calculated around
wnew=waterline + 0.5 * (ymax - waterline) * (0.5-load) where load goes from 0.0 to 1.0
In KARA 0.5 is used as load to keep the grafic looking the same as before.

Ah ok, thats right -- we might also check all the ships in the game, though a quick view on the xml table was ok.

If anybody sees a problem please report it to me

Even I, after a quick test maybe I need to change a lot of ships that I've made because the default waterline now is to much higher on water.
I understand that some ships on full load could be lower on water than before but why when the ship is empty she must fly on water?
Best Regards

we probably need an extra parameter ? , currently the float is defined by the difference of the max height of the ship (image) and thewaterline defined in the xml divided by 2. so it should never be able to float - but if the waterline is too high its a problem. The waterline should be defined for a half full ship.

...maybe it's better to go back to previous waterline? or waiting for a new version?
Ciao

another idea is to provide an option to switch it on or off, or disable it for user addons until they set a new xml flag...I will find an easy way

I like this feature, but I had been asking for it Wink

maybe a new line on the xml for the ships setting the unloaded and loaded water lines, if none is listed then a default is used?

That way it will not matter if the ships have not all been altered.

Just work on it -- update comes very very soon.

Attribute <waterline> will become max load water line
<waterempty> is the new attribute for an empty ship.
if waterempty=0 the old algorithm is used.
both values count from top to bottom in pixel.
ship_dy > waterempty > waterline
ship_dy is the size of the bitmap, more exactly the bottom of the ship (which is less than the bitmap y usually, be careful when you change the addons and test them.

I am looking forward to this update, it would be good to get this game moving forwards again.

I remember reading that there was discussion on making poc xxl 2, any news on this possibility?

The tests are trough, we just a new user "ship" and I assume in the next 2-4 days its online. I changed ALL built in ships to have the new waterline, which was necessary as some ships were not good positioned with the old algorihm.

For the Poc 2.0 I really dont know, hope on litlle manpower here.
